The Big Data Developer is responsible for the design, build, implementation and operations for big data capabilities. This includes working with open source and/or commercial stacks to support data workflow/ integration, transformation, parallelization, access and dissemination, security, and operations for a big data platform. Typically reports to a manager.


**Basic Qualifications:**

+ 5 years of software development experience with 2 years of Big Data Developer experience

+ 1 year of hands-on experience with Hadoop and related technologies (ex. Hortonworks, Cloudera)

+ 1 year of experience working with a formal SDLC process to develop a production application

+ 1 year of experience working with semi-strucutre and unstructured data.

+ Familiarity with (1) Nifi, Sqoop, Kafka, Pig, Hive, Storm, Spark for data workflow and access, or (2) Ranger, ZooKeeper, Oozie for security and operations

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Hands-on experience with Java and Linux

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
